‘2009 It Project’ announces the lineup for its second edition
Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival (July 16-26)’s industry specialization program, The Network of Asian Fantastic Films (NAFF), announced lineup of film projects that will compete at ‘It Project,’ NAFF’s project market for genre films. The 2nd official ‘It Project’ finalists include 17 feature films and 2 animated films from 10 countries in many different styles including thriller, horror, action, black comedy and so on. During the festival, It Project, which runs from July 19 to 23, will provide one-on-one business meeting opportunities with Asian/international film producers and key investors as well as jury deliberation with cash awards and post-production supports to advance filmmakers’ projects.
NAFF2009’s ‘It Project’ finalists include the well-known Japanese director Hiroyuki NAKANO (of Samurai Fiction fame) and his Numeric Love (working title) along with Korean director KANG Hyo-Jin (of Punch Lady) and his latest, Survivor. The promising young filmmakers’ projects, such as The Arsonists by HA Jun Won from Korea and Tattoo War, an animated film by Singapore’s Yue Weng POK, are also included among the finalists. The 19 official selections of ‘It Project’, the unique and dynamic genre film project market, will compete for cash awards and post-production supports.
NAFF2009 will also hold NAFForum to encourage the sharing of ideas for the development of genre film industry, along with Fantastic Film School (FFS), a specialized genre film training program, to incubate young talents who will contribute to the external growth of global genre film industry.
NAFF 2009 will take place from July 19 to 23, 2009 in Bucheon, Korea.
